A spider, blown by the wind to a fence post near a farm yard, begins to build her web and cannot be distracted from the task at hand--not by the horse, cow, sheep, goat, or dog. But when the rooster asks if she wants to catch a pesky fly, the busy spider is able to catch it in her web immediately!

The Very Busy Spider: Read Together Edition

A VERY classic from Eric Carle, creator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Early one morning a little spider spins her web on a fence post. One by one, the animals of the nearby farm try to distract her, yet the busy little spider keeps diligently at her work. When she is done, she is able to show everyone that not only is her creation quite beautiful, it is also quite useful! This multi-sensory book allows children to feel the pictures as well as see them. And with its rhythmic text, The Very Busy Spider becomes an experience to touch, to see, and to hear.

Now one of Eric Carle's most popular books is a lift-the-flap book! The horse wants to go for a ride, the cow wants to eat some grass, and the sheep wants to run in the meadow—but where is the very busy spider? You'll have to lift the flap to find out!

The farm animals try to divert a busy little spider from spinning her web, but she persists and produces a thing of both beauty and usefulness.
