Alice Cangemi has written a poignant romance novel that all women should read. According to Psychology Professor, Dr. Karen Buckman, former social worker in child abuse, "This book is very relevant today. Alice Cangemi has written a cautionary story. Her book is about survival and resilience and relates how a young girl experiences her first love after sexual abuse. This book raises awareness of sexual abuse and sheds light on the trauma it causes." This novel will enlighten you as to why a child will not tell you that he or she is being sexually abused, why it continues to happen over and over again, what kind of aftermath the child may endure, and most importantly, what you can do to prevent it. Although this is a beautiful love story, it also carries a powerful, socially important message.
